Sort of ironic that this flower, after I searched all my usual sources to no avail, turned out to be named Perplexed tick tre-foil. I think I know how it was named. This flower is in the Pea or Legumes family. The Pea Family is one of the largest families of flowers, behind only the Aster and Orchid families.
There are numerous legumes growing in Gallup including Showy tick trefoil and Bird’s foot trefoil which is considered in some some states as invasive.
