Right place — Right time!

Although my Boy Scout days were limited, I did take away the motto, “Be Prepared.”

And as a result, two days ago I walked away from Gallup with a wonderful piece of photography. While walking next to the large wetland section along the Western Trail, I heard a very lead swooshing sound just over my head followed by a loud thump! As I quickly pointed my camera, I realized what had happened as I saw a very large Red-tailed Hawk flying away with her prize in talon. I took a series of shots which marked the hawk’s ultimate escape path where she settled on a dead tree and enjoyed her snack.

Gallup once again proves to be an interesting-lace to walk.
